Irvine, CA dog trainer (age 54) and owner of Happy K9 Academy. Convicted June 17, 2026 in Orange County Superior Court on 11 felony counts of animal cruelty + 7 misdemeanor counts of attempting to destroy evidence + 1 misdemeanor count of destroying evidence after 11 dogs in his care died from heat stroke in small crates inside a hot van.
SENTENCED July 10, 2026 to 11 years, 10 months in California state prison. Sit posed as pet owners at multiple crematoriums to dispose of the dogs' bodies, then texted owners falsely claiming the dogs had 'passed peacefully in their sleep.' Necropsies confirmed 10 dogs died of heat stroke; one puppy (Rosie, sheep dog poodle) died of blunt force trauma. OC DA Todd Spitzer said Sit's actions were 'unbelievably cruel.'
